Wendong Zhang, assistant professor, gave a webinar, "Agricultural Transformations in China and its Global Trade Implications," on Aug. 31 presented by the U.S. Heartland China Association for their the Way Forward Series, which attracts about 180 participants.
Zhang reviewed longer-term changes, especially in Chinese agricultural markets and policies, that would have major impact. He covered China’s rural land reform, rising per-capita meat consumption, modernization of the livestock industry post ASF, crop insurance, and futures markets increasingly like the U.S.
