Why the price of eggs has risen so sharply

Associate Professor Lee SchulzAssociate Professor Lee Schulz was interviewed by NPR Illinois for the story "Why the price of eggs has risen so sharply," which focuses on how avian influenza is affecting the US egg supply.

Schulz told NPR that USDA is forecasting better wholesale prices and a decrease in cost is likely to come, as egg production is expected to ramp up. “They do expect product prices to decline some, maybe about 30% off these historically high levels in 2022, as we look at 2023 prices.”
