UAE delegation visits ISU, Heady Hall

A delegation from the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) visited Iowa State University for the signing ceremony of the Maktoum Al Seiari Endowed Scholarship for Excellence in Cultural Understanding and Global Citizenship. The UAE Embassy provided the funds for this scholarship to give students majoring in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Business Economics and Chemical Engineering the opportunity to participate in the UAE study abroad program. 

A department welcome meeting was held from 10:30-11:00 am in 368A, hosted by Department Chair Joshua Rosenbloom, and Teaching Professors Amani Elobeid and Ebby Luvaga

An open forum with the delegation took place from 3:45 pm-4:45 pm in 368A. The delegation was comprised of representatives from the Embassy’s Commercial and Trade Division, and the Communication and Public Affairs Diplomacy Division. 

Attendees included interested faculty, staff, and students, some of whom participated in the UAE Study Abroad programs, as well as students from political science, engineering, and the ISU Honors program.
