The Conversation surveyFaculty:

The Conversation recently released survey data from faculty members who write for the news source.

Faculty can write short pieces for The Conversation on topics in their area of expertise, working with a professional news editor. Pieces written for The Conversation are sent to media contacts at newspapers, magazines, broadcast companies and online outlets such as Newsweek, The Washington Post, Popular Science, El Pais, etc., with the ultimate audience of the general public.

Faculty can “pitch” article ideas to The Conversation editors, register their expertise for potential inquiries by editors, or can provide a list of expertise areas to LAS Communications for use in responding to expert requests by The Conversation.

ISU News Service and LAS Communications can assist faculty in formulating pitches or ideas for pitches. The benefit is potentially getting faculty's name in The New York Times or other media.
