Shazia Manus is CEO at The Members Group. In this role, Shazia works to maintain TMG’s position as a leader in the payments industry. A former credit union CEO, Shazia knows what it takes to make community financial institutions thrive. She applies this knowledge every day at TMG, helping financial institution clients across the country usher in new and better payments solutions.

Prior to joining TMG, Shazia served as the CEO of Greater Iowa Credit Union where she engineered a significant turn-around of the institution, achieving substantial profitability and membership growth. She also led a multi-million dollar business acquisition, adding to the credit union’s overall value for members.

A veteran of the credit union industry, Shazia is currently serving on the World Council of Credit Unions’ Global Women’s Leadership Network and the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Payments Policy Subcommittee. She also has been instrumental in key legislative advocacy campaigns and the development of growth initiatives vital to the future of credit unions.

Shazia earned a bachelor degree in Economics from Iowa State University (ISU) and graduated from the three-year Certified Chief Executive program. Her CCE designation was presented by the CUES CEO Institutes in partnership with the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, and the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia. In addition, Shazia is heavily involved in the Harvard Business School’s Executive Leadership Program, working on the Leading Change and Organizational Renewal (LCOR) initiative.

For Shazia, “people helping people” is not just a philosophy, it is a way of being. Her intellect and drive have improved the lives of many individuals, the community she lives in, the organization she works for.

Her leadership goes beyond the credit union industry, as she has been actively involved with a number of business and community service organizations in central Iowa (e.g. Ames Economic Development Commission, Rotary Club of Ames, Iowa College Student Aid Commission, etc.). Currently, Shazia serves as a board associate for the Finance Committee of the ISU Alumni Association, board of trustee for the Ames Public Library, and as a member of the Women with Initiative committee for United Way of Story County, Iowa.
