The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will recognize Izak Christensen, one of six spring 2018 graduates with senior awards at the college's convocation event on May 4, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am in Hilton Coliseum. Awards are presented by the CALS Student Council.

Christensen will graduate in May with bachelor's degrees in agricultural business and agronomy, as well as a master's degree in business administration with a specialization in finance.  

He is a recipient of the Iowa Crop Improvement Association scholarship for the 2017-2018 academic year, and the 2017 William C. Berg Academic Excellence in Agriculture scholarship.

Christensen has served as treasurer of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Student Council in 2017 as well as a Peer Mentor for the Agricultural Business First-Year Learning Community during the 2016-2017 academic year, and has been a member of the Ag Business Club and was a part of the 4th place John Deere Signature Award winning Iowa State University Student Chapter of National Agri-Marketing Association.

He competed in undergraduate quiz bowls at the 2017 Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA) meeting and the Southern Agricultural Economics Association (SAEA) meeting in Mobile, Alabama.

He has included two study abroad trips, one to Italy, Switzerland, and France through Iowa State University MBA Study Abroad, and one to Argentina with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Study Abroad office for a spring break program in 2015.

Christensen has accepted a position to work for Summit Agricultural Group as an investment analyst after graduation.
