Save the date: How Institution Racism Shaped the American Farmland Landscape

Thurs., Sept. 23, 2021
6:00 PM EST

The National Society of MANRRS stands in support of bringing awareness to the injustices and issues impacting various underserved communities. The United States agriculture today appears to be just as segregated as it was a century ago, with farmers of color at a significant disadvantage. Farmers of color currently comprise less than 3% of non-farming landowners and less than 4% of owner-operators.

With today being the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, MANRRS is thrilled to present: How Institution Racism Shaped the American Farmland Landscape.

MANRRS invites you to join the conversation and register today as virtual seats will fill up!

Attend this engaging discussion as we call for more attention to the demographics of farmland ownership and farming, and identify opportunities for action to create a more equitable U.S. food system.

We can assure you nothing matters more to MANRRS than our mission to promote academic and professional advancement by empowering minorities in agriculture, natural resources, and related sciences. Our platform has the privilege and responsibility to be an advocate against racial injustice, a force for good, and an ally to all communities. We want to always be reminded it is our duty to be a positive influence for change.
