Question:
I've been thinking a lot lately about how people used to say not everyone can be an entrepreneur, because someone has to do the work. But now with AI and robots becoming more advanced, I see them as powerful workers. So, do you think that means humans can actually become entrepreneurs now? I’m 16 and trying to decide between becoming an AI automation engineer or a doctor, and I’m wondering if this shift will happen.Answer:
That's a really interesting point about AI changing future employment opportunities. You’re not wrong; AI is making it easier to start businesses without having huge teams. Becoming an entrepreneur though involves significant risk, not everyone has the stomach for that level of uncertainty. Entrepreneurship still requires sufficient risk tolerance, capital access, and market opportunities regardless of the presence of AI or not. While AI can lower barriers to entry by aiding in product development, entrepreneurship still requires a deep understanding of the consumer and strategic thinking.
Both your potential career paths seem to be great future options. Medicine is always going to be needed, and AI will just make doctors better at their jobs rather than replace them. AI engineering is exciting too and gives you tons of startup opportunities down the road. My advice while cliché is pick what genuinely interests you more. You can always think like an entrepreneur in either field - plenty of doctors start companies, and tech skills naturally lead to business ideas.
