CALS faculty, staff, and guests are invited to join the college at the annual barbecue on Sep. 3, 3-6 pm at the Jeff and Deb Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center prior to the ISU vs. UNI football game at 7 pm. Attendees will enjoy complimentary Hickory Park barbeque, networking with CALS alums and friends, and hands-on family friendly activities from CALS student organizations. Shuttle service will be provided to and from the stadium.

As a result of a resolution from the Student Government, black and white student printing charges have been set at $.05 per page on all printers on campus.

Student fees cover 100 pages of black and white per semester, with some colleges offering additional subsidies to students for additional pages. After a student has reached his/her limit of printed pages, students are charged a minimum of $1.00 per month for additional printing. Setting a consistent printing price across campus helps students better budget their printing each semester.

CALS Career Services office will host a USDA Pathways for Recent Graduates event on Aug 24-25 in the Memorial Union Cardinal Room. More than 35 recruiters from Farm Service Agency, Risk Management Agency and Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services will be on campus for the event. The federal initiative targets recent graduates (less than two years out; six years for those with military experience) and Dec. 2016 graduates for training programs within the designated agencies.

Computers: The Department of Economics authorizes one computer (thin client) and two monitors per graduate student. If you do not have one in your office, and would like one, please email to be added to the list. If you have one in your office that is not currently being used, or that is not set up, please let him know that as well. If you do not want a station at your desk he can remove any unwanted equipment.
