Associate Professor Lee Schulz was interviewed by Iowa Farmer Today for the story "Livestock numbers help predict trade future," which examines how the economy, international demand, and politics affect livestock trade.
Schulz said that “One of the factors as of late has been the exchange rate. We have a stronger U.S. dollar, and we also have a strengthening peso which brings more trade from Mexico.” He also noted the tight U.S. beef supply could limit trade options.
