University Professor Peter Orazem was interviewed by The Quad City Times for the article "Recouping Iowa’s worker losses will be difficult, state economist says."

In the article, which focuses on the recession in Iowa and statewide difficulty recouping labor losses, Orazem said that “We’re lagging the rest of the U.S. in terms of recovery of employment, and that’s holding back the Iowa economy.” He also said that much of the workforce Iowa lost was among older workers who do not appear to have plans to rejoin the workforce, and Iowa historically struggles to attract new residents.
