Plastina and Tidgren panelists for Farm Foundation forum

Alejandro Plastina, associate professor, and Kristine Tidgren, Director of the Center for Ag Law and Taxation, will serve as panelists in the forum “Solving the Barriers to Agricultural Carbon Markets” organized by the Farm Foundation for April 12.

Farm foundation forum"Solving the Barriers to Agricultural Carbon Markets" will cover what still needs to be done to advance carbon markets. Providing an objective look at carbon markets from an economic and legal perspective, topics discussed will include what pitfalls persist, what opportunities are available for farmers, and where both the science and market trends are currently headed.

Plastina said, "Of course, we will extensively refer to the ISU’s Carbon Science for Carbon Markets report (https://store.extension.iastate.edu/product/16214). The forum will be a good opportunity to highlight the leadership of ISU on this topic at the national level."

The Forum will take place via Zoom on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 9:00 am CT.

The panel will be completed by Shelby Myers, Economist with the American Farm Bureau, and Dr. Garth Boyd, Partner at The Context Network (who provided consultation services to the Carbon Sequestration Task Force organized by Gov. Reynolds).
