Adam Knoblock, ag business sophomore, was chosen as one of the 2022 Cultivators by the Farm Foundation. The Farm Foundation selects six students every year to attend their Farm Foundation Round Table meeting, which was held in Delray Beach, Florida Jan. 11-14.
Knoblock made a short presentation and created a poster on the potential benefits of incorporating perennial groundcover in crop production to help in reducing negative environmental impacts and in improving soil and water quality. Environmental issues and global trade in agriculture are areas of particular interest to Knoblock. The title of his presentation was “Perennial Ground Cover for Biofuel Production and Environmental Sustainability.”
Knoblock grew up on his family farm and is currently actively involved with the Agricultural Business Club and the Iowa Corn Growers Collegiate Club and several other organizations, including a study abroad trip to the United Arab Emirates in November. He has interned at AgriGold and will spend next summer interning at Poet as a grain merchandiser.
