To Iowa State faculty, staff, postdocs, and graduate assistants: Your help is needed to support Iowa State University’s large-scale vaccination clinic.
Who can get vaccinated at the campus clinic? All students, faculty, staff, and postdocs will receive information in the coming days about how to sign up to get vaccinated. As announced by the Governor, undergraduate, graduate, and professional students will be prioritized for the one-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. Our goal is to vaccinate as many members of the ISU community as possible before the end of the semester. However, if you can get vaccinated through another provider, please do so.
Vaccination effort requires campus-wide support. The mass vaccination clinic, located at State Gym, will run shifts from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. on the following days: April 15 – 16, 20 – 23, 26 – May 1, and May 3 – 7. Please note these dates are subject to change based on daily vaccine supply.
Nearly 750 individual nonclinical full-day shifts need to be filled in the following roles:
- Wayfinding – assist with line management, directing patients to open registration and vaccination stations.
- Registration – assist with checking in patients.
- Observation – assist Health Services with visually monitoring patients for rare adverse vaccine reactions.
- Data Entry - transcribe data from paper forms into an online vaccination database.
Sign up as soon as possible. Faculty, staff, postdocs, and graduate assistants should contact their supervisor immediately to discuss their interest in working at the clinic. Please select one role and at least two full-day shifts to limit training time. We ask for your flexibility on the dates you select for your full-day shifts. We may need to make sudden scheduling adjustments based on daily vaccine supply. Visit these resources for more information and to sign-up to work at the clinic:
