Beatrice Maule, ag bus junior, won the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association Undergraduate Student Paper Competition Award for her paper, "Of women and land: how gender affects successions and transfers of Iowa farms." Maule's advisor is Wendong Zhang, co-author: PhD student Qing Liu.
Nieyan Cheng, PhD student, was a finalist for the AAEA Extension Graduate Student Competition. Her presentation was, "Cucurbits under Cover: Assessing the Economic Efficiency of Mesotunnels for Organic Cucurbit Growers."
She also presented her poster, "Pipeline and Property Values: A Nationwide Hedonic Analysis of Pipeline Accidents Over the Past Three Decades."
