Wendong Zhang, assistant professor, made three zoom presentations last week on US-China Agricultural Trade at the Cooperative Farmers Network Core Conference, the Michigan Corn Growers Association "Coffee with Corn" Weekly Webinar, and the Iowa Corn Growers Association EGT Committee Meeting.
The YouTube Recording of the February 23 "Coffee with Corn" Webinar for the Michigan Corn Growers Association is available at https://www2.econ.iastate.edu/faculty/zhang/webcasts/
Zhang also wrote two technical reports:
One is for a USDA funded project year 1 technical report based on surveys of project team members and cooperative growers of organic cucurbit crops (e.g., muskmelons; acorn squash) in Iowa, Kentucky and New York. The report is joint with graduate student Nieyan Cheng, and the report focusing on new production technologies mesotunnels and biological controls can be found at https://www.cucurbit.plantpath.iastate.edu/files/inline-files/OREI_Year_1_Survey_Report_Feb2021.pdf
More about this project could be found at https://www.news.iastate.edu/news/2019/10/08/organicpestmanagement
The other one is a CARD policy brief joint with Abigail Morton and Dr. Yu Wang from ISU Political Science department based on a survey of Midwest residential consumers about their willingness to participate in demand response program, which uses smart technologies to lower peak electricity load by either shifting demand to non-peak hours or directly shaving peak demand
