Charles F. Curtiss Distinguished Professor in Agriculture and Life Sciences Wallace Huffman was laid to rest at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2020 at ISU Cemetery in Ames. A private family funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. that day at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Des Moines.
University Professor Peter Orazem, delivered a eulogy.
"I want to talk about Wally as the farm boy, Wally as the high school baseball player, Wally as the economist, Wally as the mentor, Wally as the woodworker, and Wally as the father and husband. They’re all the same person, there was no nuance to Wally, he wore all those hats, and he wore them all at the same time."
