Durbahn paper places second in AAEA competition

Grant DurbahnMSAE student Grant Durbahn's paper, "The Determinants of Farmland Rental Contract Choice in Iowa," took second place in the 2020 AAEA (Agricultural and Applied Economics Association) Undergraduate Paper Competition.

"I worked with Dr. Orazem and Jun Yeong Lee on my paper and submitted it to the competition. As an additional portion of the competition, I gave a virtual presentation to some members of the association that detailed my results. It was very educational to participate in academic writing and research, and it was certainly one of the more valuable things I completed in my undergraduate work," said Durbahn.

The paper provides empirical evidence on landlord-tenant choices in cropshare versus cash rent contracts on randomly selected parcels of land in Iowa.
