Citu appointed Romania's prime minister-designate

Florin CituRomania's president Klaus Iohannis appointed acting finance minister Florin Citu ('01 PhD econ), a member of the National Liberal Party (PNL), as prime minister-designate to form a new government, after consultations with the parliamentary parties on Wednesday, February 26 according to the Feb. 27 Romania-Insider.com.

Born in 1972, Florin Citu holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Grinnell College in the U.S., a master's degree in economics and a doctoral degree in macroeconomics and international economics from Iowa State University.
