Because of the cancellation of the Chinese Economists Society in-person conferences this year, a virtual conference will be held via Zoom on August 13-15, 2020. A preliminary conference program is available here: https://www.china-ces.org/Conferences/ConferenceDefault.aspx?ID=2050.
About 130 CES members, whose papers were accepted for the cancelled North America conference, will present their work at this virtual conference. Invited keynote speakers include Melissa Dell (Harvard, 2020 Clark Medalist), Dave Donaldson (MIT, 2017 Clark Medalist), Hanming Fang (UPenn), Edward Glaeser (Harvard), Samuel Kortum (Yale), Shang-Jin Wei (Columbia), and Yang Yao (PKU). In addition, we have invited a panel of five journal editors to offer some advice to junior scholars.
This conference is free for all CES members and friends. If you are interested in participating as a listener, please register by leaving your name and email address at this website: https://mit.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_doNarqB11jKHI9v. The registration deadline is July 31, 2020. (Note that if you filled out the earlier survey for presenting authors, you don’t need to do it again; we know that you will participate and already have your contact information.)
