On Tuesday, Feb. 18, three agricultural business students competed and qualified from CALS in the College-by-College Pitch Off at the new Student Innovation Center. The students delivered a 90-second pitch about an idea or business they are working on to a panel of judges for cash prizes. In addition to a cash prize, the top two in each category (a new idea or existing business) in each college pitch off advanced to the Innovation Pitch Competition, held on February 27.
Ag bus junior Zach Ritland (at left in top photo) and Jared Fisher (ag bus senior) won in the new idea category with their job recruitment tool for connecting the talent pipeline between farmers and community colleges. Natalie Eick (ag bus junior) won in the existing business category for her company Hightail Ice Cream.
