Economics Department Associate Professor Georgeanne Artz, who passed away April 25, will be honored at the ISU Retirees Association's annual Memorial Day ceremony Monday, May 27.
The ceremony, which will remember approximately 130 retired and current faculty and staff, their spouses or partners who recently passed away, begins at 9 a.m. in the Alumni Center's Reiman Ballroom and is open to the public.
The ceremony includes a musical prelude by Collegiate Brass from Ames' Collegiate United Methodist Church, invocation by a local minister and a photo slideshow of the honorees as their names are read.
Family members and friends are invited to speak for 2-3 minutes at the ceremony about their loved one or colleague. If individuals are not able to be present to speak, comments can be submitted here: www.isualum.org/memorialceremony. These comments will be placed in a remembrance book and on the ISU Retirees Association website, www.isualum.org/isuretirees, for all to read.
The ceremony closes with a benediction and the playing of taps.
