Dermot Hayes, professor, was quoted in a story on NPR's All Things Considered, about comments from the head of the president's National Trade Council, Peter Navarro. Speaking at an economics conference in Washington, DC, last week, Navarro expressed concern about foreign companies buying up U.S. corporations and posing a threat to national security.
"I was completely confused by that comment," said Hayes. "It's an uninformed statement. There's nothing that's going on that would say that other governments are buying essential portions of our agricultural infrastructure," he adds.
