Ron Deiter, professor, will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville. Deiter follows Jim Kliebenstein (2011) and Joe Sebranek (1992) to win the award. All three were Wisconsin farm boys who went to UWP for their bachelor's degrees and ended up at Iowa State after getting their PhDs. Even though they graduated from UWP over a span of three years, they did not actually meet until they came to ISU.
"As far as the Distinguished Alum Award goes, I have been told there are over 50,000 UWP alumni alive today, so to be one of four this past week to be selected for this award is an honor that I am proud and humbled to have been given," Deiter said.
