Orientation session June is a busy month for academic advisers Amy Brandau, Ebby Luvaga, and Ron Deiter. The undergraduate office becomes the center of a dozen two-day orientation sessions for approximately 85 new ag bus and econ freshmen who hail from Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, and Wisconsin.

Students and their parents meet with the advisers on the first afternoon to hear an overview of the department and learn more about the major and its requirements. The students are assigned to a learning community team for the fall. Students meet in their learning community teams on day 2 of orientation to help them get to know each other and to register for classes.
