New Regents Phased Retirement Program

The Board of Regents (BOR) approved a new phased retirement policy for the regents system to replace the one that ended on June 30, 2017. The replacement provides one- and two-year phased options.

If a one-year phased option is selected the maximum appointment is 50% (with 50% pay) and without any additional salary incentive payment.

If a two-year phasing is selected, the maximum appointment in year one is 65 %, and 50 % in year two. Compensation matches the phased work percentage in both years, but in the first year only, the ISU will offer an additional 10 percent of the employee's full-time salary.
