Jacobs makes multiple presentations

Dr. Keri JacobsKeri Jacobs, assistant professor, has recently made several presentations:

Dec. 20, 2016: Conducted a webinar for ISU’s Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation, titled, “Understanding Ag Cooperatives’ Equity and Patronage.” The webinar was attended by tax professionals and others in the agricultural industry impacted by special tax treatments of cooperative distributions.

Jan. 18, 2017: Spoke at StateLine Cooperative’s Annual Board Planning Session, held in Des Moines, Iowa. Jacobs provided the board an update on state-level cooperative financial performance and also on ag industry consolidation.

Feb. 1, 2017: Presented at the 76th Annual Meeting of the Iowa Chapter of American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, held in Ames, Iowa. Her presentation, titled, “Consolidation and Competition in Ag: Are These Game Changers,” focused on local consolidation producers’ face in their supply and marketing change, and the potential local implications of the mega-mergers at the national and international level.

Feb. 2, 2017: Presented on governance and board and manager responsibilities at the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives’ Iowa Directors’ Update, held in Des Moines, Iowa.
