Iowa State suspends spring commencement

According to the March 26 Cedar Rapids Gazette: Other campuses (besides Kirkwood College) either considering virtual ceremonies this May — or planning them — include Cornell, Mount Mercy, and Iowa State University.

In a recent message, ISU President Wendy Wintersteen noted her campus will persist in planning an in-person commencement at a later date and, in the meantime, “may also coordinate a virtual celebration at the end of this academic year.”

“Campus leaders are working on plans for a livestreamed graduation address in May,” according to an ISU message.
