Iowa State Researchers and their students are encouraged to participate in Iowa State Research Day, March 25, 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.

  • The keynote address will occur the evening prior on Tuesday, March 24 (7:00 Curtiss, Room 127).  Brian Malow is a renowned science comedian who focuses on helping scientists to communicate better with lay audiences.  His presentation aims to both amuse and offer advice on stage presence, connecting with audiences, using analogies, and abusing PowerPoint.  We think you will both enjoy and learn from Brian’s marriage of science-speak and comedy!
  • Application for sharing posters and creative expressions has been extended to February 7.  We encourage you to consider using the #betterposter design which aims to improve presentation experiences for both researchers and viewers.  Poster presenters who choose to use this design and attend an instructional workshop are eligible to have their poster printed and paid for by the OVPR!
  • Check out the Networking opportunity to learn from and connect with your colleagues, and maybe even form a new collaboration.  New this year is a networking event focused on connecting researchers from all disciplines to explore initiatives related to Iowa State’s five grand challenge themes.  Register to indicate your interest in making connections in one or more theme areas.
  • Research Day continues to include popular Story Collider and Lightning Talks.  And we are happy to be announce a linear schedule of events this year which will allow presenters to attend more events themselves!
