The Agricultural Business Club honored Dr. Ron Deiter at its annual banquet on Saturday, March 6, 2021. Dr. Deiter has served as advisor to the club since 1978. The program included alumni speakers Izak Christiansen ('18 ag business) and Elizabeth Burns-Thompson ('11 ag business) and current student speakers Cale Pellet and Brooke Beinhart providing remarks on behalf of their respective groups.

Burnell Louis Deiter, father of Ron Deiter, professor, passed away Nov. 10, 2020 at Epione Pavilion, Cuba City, Wisconsin.
In July, Farm Credit Services of America contributed a $25,000 check to the Iowa State University Foundation for the Ron Deiter ISU Ag Bus Club Endowment fund. Ron Deiter, professor, is one of the Agricultural Business Club's co-advisers.
Seven members of the department were recently thanked through #CyThx recognition. The #CyThx initiative was formed to help support the ISU Strategic Goal #4: "to enhance and cultivate the ISU experience where faculty, staff, students, and visitors are safe and feel welcomed, supported, included, and valued by the university and each other.” The initiative invites Cyclones to share “Who makes you feel like a valued member of the ISU community?”

On Friday, Oct. 25, agricultural business senior Riley Arthur stepped onto the stage at the Alumni Association Awards ceremony in Scheman to accept the ISU Alumni Association Impact Award on behalf of the Iowa State University Agricultural Business Club.
The Iowa State University Ag Business Club won the "Outstanding Chapter" award at the Undergraduate Student Section Awards of the 2019 AAEA Annual Meeting, July 21-23, in Atlanta.

Elizabeth Burns-Thompson, of Altoona, has been named the 2019 Emerging Iowa Leader by the Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Burns-Thompson is regulatory affairs counsel for the Iowa Corn Growers Association. She received a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business and international agriculture from Iowa State in 2011.

Georgeanne Artz, assistant professor, was diagnosed with melanoma cancer in August 2017. As co-adviser of the Agricultural Business Club, Georgeanne’s character of helping others is vital to the success of the club and its members.

The Iowa FFA Farm Business Management Career Development Event (CDE) was held on the ISU campus on April 11th. There were 298 individuals and 83 teams participating in the competitive contest.
