A buckeye tree donated in memory of ag bus alumnus Ryan Hrubes (2010) by The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences was planted near Curtiss Hall in October. Hrubes, who was active in the Agricultural Business Club, National Agrimarketing Association (NAMA), VEISHA, and Agriculture Future of America (AFA), died in a car crash in 2015.
His wife Emily and his family established the Ryan Hrubes Memorial Scholarship for Leadership in Agriculture, which includes a cash stipend and sponsorship to AFA. Ag bus senior Joni Erwin, the first recipient of the scholarship, was presented the award at the Ag Business Club banquet.
