Associate Professor Wendong Zhang was interviewed by the Sioux City Journal for the article "How might rising interest rates impact Iowa farmland values?" which focuses on the impact of interest rates on farmland values.
Zhang told the Sioux City Journal that "All the cumulative interest rate hikes in 2022 have impacts not just in 2022. It essentially takes over a decade to be fully capitalized in the market." He also noted that the biggest impacts typically occur in 12 to 18 months.
