Dr. Chad HartChad Hart, professor, was interviewed for a Feb. 5 Iowa Farmer Today story, "Recent U.S. trade agreements pay off."

China isn’t the only game in town when it comes to trade. “There are really two categories,” says Iowa State University Extension economist Chad Hart. “There’s China and there’s all the rest.”

Fairly recent agreements with Guatemala and Colombia are also paying dividends with increased exports, Hart says.

Hart was also interviewed on the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network, Feb. 12
“What we have seen, for this marketing year, is a tremendous increase in global demand. The big thing happening now that COVID-19 started to mask for a while is the need for protein worldwide. That is driving a tremendous need for feed grains throughout the world,” Hart says.
