: Bertan TurhanTitle: Incentive Compatible Belief Elicitation: Theory and
ExperimentsAbstract: Economists (in the lab or in the field) often want to
measure the beliefs of a decision-maker\, and want to do so in an incenti
ve-compatible way to ensure that the reported beliefs are truthful. Howeve
r\, many different mechanisms have been proposed\, and there is little gui
dance on which is superior. In this presentation\, I'll provide an overvie
w of the theory of incentive compatible belief elicitation as well as expe
rimental evidence on which mechanisms perform best in practice.&nbsp\;\n\n
