The conference is hosted by the AEA Committee on Economic Education in conjunction with the Journal of Economic Education. Submissions will be accepted via the AEA online submission system. Submissions may be of individual papers, complete sessions of three or four papers, workshops, or panels. Submissions of completed sessions are especially encouraged.

Not making a submission this year but willing to serve in another capacity?  Send a request to Roisin O’Sullivan (rosulliv@smith.edu) before the submission deadline. Include a list of up to three broad areas in which you could participate as a discussant/session chair (e.g. interactive teaching, undergraduate research, assessment, online learning, etc.).

CTREE St. Louis Fed Pre-Conference Event: FRED and Econ Ed at the St. Louis Fed

Tues., May 28, 2019; 12:30– 6:30 p.m.

The academic community is long familiar with the St. Louis Fed’s commitment to economic education—through their free educational resources such as FRED®, FREDcast™ and EconLowdown®, as well as their many publications such as Review and Page One Economics®. This event will bring together a variety of Federal Reserve speakers and teaching professors on strategies for improving economic instruction, with sessions covering: Monetary policy in the 21st century, making the most of FRED and FREDcast in the classroom and using Excel to teach economics.  Special sessions on women in economics and programming to support community college faculty will also be offered.
