NBER Project on the Economics of Digitization Meeting

The tutorial will introduce third year and higher graduate students to overviews of this area of research and provide graduate students face-to-face time with research leaders. The final day of the meeting will involve presentations of frontier research by six researchers and discussants, as part of the winter meeting of the NBER Digitization group. The meeting will be held at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Workshop: Effectively managing disruptive classroom behavior

addressing it immediately. Their advice: remain calm, assess the situation, listen to student concerns.
Especially recommended: provide a clear, firm response that is consistent with responses you’ve given other
students. The strategies and resources in this workshop will help you prepare for these moments before they
occur.

Midwest Big Data Summer School

Description: This summer school is designed as an intensive curriculum aimed at practitioners and researchers to get them started in data-driven research and development. The school will include full day lectures on topics ranging from: data acquisition, data preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, descriptive data analysis, data analysis tools and techniques, visualization and communication, ethical issues in data science, reproducibility and repeatability, and understanding of domain/context.
