The fifth annual European Student Conference (ESC) organized by European Horizons will be held at Yale University starting on the evening of April 4th, with the main conference programming occurring Friday, April 5th and Saturday, April 6th 2019.

The conference will bring together 100 undergraduate and graduate students from universities across the United States, Europe, Asia and the world with distinguished academics and seasoned policy-makers in order to address some of the challenges confronting the European Union.

This year, we are welcoming representatives from politics, business, and diplomacy, as well as journalists and academics from US universities. In the past, ESC has hosted notable dignitaries such as Josep Borrell, Pascal Lamy, Kristalina Georgieva, Ambassador Gérard Araud and Ambassador David O’Sullivan.

All ESC participants will get the chance to:

  • Engage with the challenges that confront the EU in seven workshops related to Energy, Technology & Internet Governance, EU-East Asia, Democracy, National Sovereignty, Security, and Brexit
  • Develop policy recommendations along with motivated undergraduate and graduate students that share a passion for the EU
  • Debate with seasoned policy-makers and distinguished academics from the US and Europe
  • Become part of an international network that links thinkers and leaders with an interest in transatlantic relations and the EU
