Department welcomes new faculty August 16

Gary LynGary Lyn, assistant professor, earned his B.Sc. in economics and business from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Kingston, Jamaica, in 2004, his M.Sc. in economics from there in 2006, and his Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania, in 2012.

Much of his research centers on immigration and international trade.

 

Gil DePaulaGuilherme (Gil) DePaula, assistant professor, comes to the department from Yale, where he recently received his Ph.D. in environmental economics. He received an MESc, environmental economics, from Yale in 2011, an MBA, sustainable enterprise, from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School in 2002, and an electrical engineering degree from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in 1993.

His primary areas of research are environmental and agricultural economics, technological change, and applied econometrics.

 

Edward BalistreriEdward Balistreri, associate professor, comes to Iowa State from Colorado School of Mines. He served there most recently as associate professor, Division of Economics and Business.

Balistreri got his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University in 1989, his M.A. (1993) and his Ph.D. (1995) from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
