Department of Economics alumni Will Martin ('82 PhD economics) and Jutta Roosen ('99 PhD economics) were named 2021 Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA) Fellows.
Martin is a senior research fellow in International Food Policy Research Institute’s Markets, Trade, and Institutions Division, where his main interests are agricultural trade policy, productivity growth, poverty reduction, prioritization of development interventions, and environmental impacts of agricultural support.
Roosen heads the department of Marketing and Consumer Research, Technical University of Munich. Her research focuses on the study of consumer behavior and demand analysis with an interest in cognitive aspects of perception and cultural influences on behavior. Her work often deals with questions of food quality and safety, nutrition and health behavior as well as sustainable consumption of energy and food.
