Call for Papers - 2020 NBER-CRIW Summer Institute Workshop

January 31, 2020

The NBER and the Conference on Research in Income and Wealth (CRIW) seek to promote professional interactions among producers and users of government economic statistics. To that end, in summer 2020 the NBER's Productivity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program and the CRIW will jointly sponsor a workshop to be held Monday, July 13 and Tuesday, July 14 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The workshop organizers are Katharine Abraham, Susanto Basu, Nick Bloom and Carol Corrado.

Submission deadline: March 18, 2020

Submissions on any topic related to the measurement of economic activity are welcome. Again this year, the workshop will meet together with the NBER's Macro Productivity group during a part of the scheduled time and the organizers also solicit papers on topics at the intersection of productivity and macroeconomics (broadly interpreted) to be presented during this session.

Accepted papers may be scheduled either for a 45-minute time slot discussant but some time for general discussion. The shorter time slots may be especially appropriate for papers that present interesting new material but are narrower in scope. When you upload your paper, please indicate if you have a preference for a longer or a shorter time slot.

We invite you to upload papers in PDF format or a format readable by Microsoft Word to  Please use the same link to submit papers proposed for the joint session with the NBER Macro Productivity group.  When you submit, please  indicate whether the paper would be a good fit for the joint session. The deadline for submissions is noon (EST) on March 18, 2020.

Please share this information with colleagues who may have a paper suitable for the program. Papers by researchers with and without NBER affiliations, by early career scholars, and by researchers from under-represented groups, are welcome. Presenters will be reimbursed for reasonable travel expenses, subject to NBER guidelines. Only one author per paper will be reimbursed. The NBER Conference Department will assist in making hotel arrangements.
