How do I submit my POSC?

The Program of Study and Committee (POSC) form is submitted through AccessPlus. Ph.D. students should choose a major professor by October 1 and save the major professor name(s) in the POSC form on AccessPlus. Students will only save the form at this time. It is not ready to be sumibtted until the entire POSC is complete. Saving the form will allow the DOGE and graduate program coordinator to confirm that a major professor has been selected by the deadline.

The full POS committee must be in place by December 1, including a member from outside the department. Meeting that deadline increases the spring semester stipend by $400. More importantly, students who do not meet the deadline risk their eligibility for full funding in the spring. E.g., a ½ time TA or RA position in the spring could become a ¼ time position.

Please remember that you’ll need to fill out your proposed list of future courses, as well as existing courses, consistent with meeting the graduation requirements. For example, the list of courses must include the required 694A & B classes, meet the 2-field requirement, have enough total credits to graduate, and so on. This is in the section “ISU graduate courses taken (or to be taken) as a degree-seeking graduate student.”  You can modify the form later if needed.
