About me
I am an assistant professor in the department of economics at Iowa State University. I am originally from Beauceville, a small town an hour south of Québec city. I did my undergrad and my Masters degree in economics at Université Laval. I then spent a year working at the Centre de Recherche en Économie Agricole. I later moved to California where I started a PhD in agricultural and resource economics at UCDavis. I graduated in 2008 and then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California Agricultural Issues Center. I joined the department of economics at Iowa State University in August 2009.
Research interests
I am interested in the economics of agriculture. So far, my research has focused on how traceability increases the incentives for firms to deliver safe food. I have also measured the market effects of mandatory traceability in the cattle industry. I am currently working on the effects of traceability on food safety when firms have heterogenous costs and on the effects of traceability on international trade.
