" An Experimental Study of Alternating Bargaining Game with Uncertainties"

Abstract: This study proposes a two-stage offer alternating game that introduces uncertainty as the probability of shifting the bargaining power. The experimental results show that proposers tend to offer more, and responders demand more as the bargaining power shifts to responders, and the marginal effects are nonlinear. When the bargaining power increases, the responders also return less as a revenge. Using the strategy method design, simulation shows that offering a half is the optimal strategy in all scenarios for the proposers, which is in line with the data that the fair offer is the focal point.
