This report presents an overview of the methods used to collect field data from commercial halibut fishermen in the Gulf of Alaska during the 2006 and 2007 fishing seasons. The report consists of three parts: Part I presents an overview of project goals, the survey instrument, and procedures used in the field to facilitate data collection; Part II presents summary statistics to demonstrate the breadth of information gathered; Part III discusses challenges and lessons learned during the field data collection effort.
