A research study explored innovative methods for constructing computable general equilibrium (CGE) models for rural structural change and development policy analysis. These are the 'make' matrix, the personal consumption goods-industrial goods matrix, the occupation-industry matrix and the map distance matrix. Modeling the CGE for rural areas requires particular attention to the results of econometric tests on economics theories, especially since rural communities are demographically and economically different from urban regions.
