Ebby Luvaga, teaching professor, has been selected as one of the twelve 2021 Women Impacting ISU. Each year, a committee of students, faculty and staff – including past calendar honorees – evaluates the nomination packets to select the final honorees. The committee chooses the 12 honorees based on their achievements in service, teaching, research, administration and involvement in campus activities, depending on each nominee’s role on campus.

Wendong Zhang, assistant professor, was awarded a $39,700 grant funded by Iowa Water Center and Iowa Nutrient Research Center for his project "Environmental Justice for All: Nutrient Impacts on Lake-Based Recreation and Tourism by Rural and Socially Disadvantaged Iowans." Zhang's Co-PIs on the project are Yongjie Ji, assistant scientist, CARD; David Swenson, research scientist; and Xibo Wan, Ph.D. student.
The book, "New Technology and Conflicting Information," edited by Wallace Huffman and Jill McCluskey, has been published by World Scientific. Huffman was working on this volume at the time of his death, June 10, 2020.
Trey Boyle, MSAE student, is the winner of the Barbara and Thomas Lyon Scholarship for the Study of Agricultural Cooperatives for 2019-2020. The $5,000 scholarship is awarded to a promising graduate student in the Department of Economics who demonstrates an interest in the study of cooperative business enterprises, and agricultural cooperatives in particular.
In response to an idea generated by the college’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, an anonymous feedback form has been created. “You are always welcome to reach out to me directly to share your thoughts – I encourage it!” said Dean Robison in his Nov. 13 letter to faculty and staff.

Mark A.
