At what point do exit costs become “excessive?”

As markets change, firms will open and close. Firms will move from one part of the country to another or from one section of a city to another.

Some people may lose their jobs or refuse to move to new firms or new locations. The costs may seem “too high” to some people but they can not be avoided if markets are to continue to operate efficiently.
