Kling named Charles F. Curtiss Distinguished Professor

Catherine Kling, professor of economics and interim CARD director, was recently named a Charles F. Curtiss Distinguished Professor in Agriculture and Life Sciences. Kling has been the head of CARD’s Resource and Environmental Policy Division since 1999, and has served as the interim director since 2011.

Kling is well known among economists for her research in environmental policy, and is additionally recognized through receipt of the Bruce Gardner Memorial Prize for Applied Policy Analysis, Fellowship in the American Agricultural Economics Association, and was named in Who’s Who in Economics. Some of her most notable research areas include tradable pollution permits, carbon and water sequestration, and environmental amenities.

The title of Charles F. Curtiss Distinguished Professor is given to those whose contributions to their field of study are recognized nationally or internationally.
