IFREE's 18th Visiting Graduate Student Workshop in Experimental Economics

This coming January the International Foundation of Research in Experimental Economics (IFREE) will sponsor its 18th Visiting Graduate Student Workshop on Experimental Economics at Chapman University in (warm) Orange, CA. The seminar will open with a reception on the evening of Sunday, January 6 and run through Thursday, January 10, 2013.

Heartland workshop at Illinois, 2012

Workshop Description: The Heartland Environmental and Resource Economics Workshop (HERE) will be held for the fourth year at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on November 10, 2012. The focus of the workshop this year will be on topics in environmental valuation, water resources and water quality and environmental policy. We will also be recognizing our esteemed colleague, Dr. John Braden, who has retired after a distinguished career of over 30 years at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Call for papers

Submissions of papers are now being accepted in all fields of economics to be presented at the The Missouri Economics Association and Washington University's Economics Graduate Students Conference. Completed manuscripts will be given priority, but abstracts will also be considered. The deadline for submissions is September 1, 2012.

Coordinator for student IT workshop series needed

The computer committee is looking for a graduate student to coordinate IT workshop series in Fall 2012. Responsibilities include teaching an introductory workshop on departmental computer resources for graduate students, locating students willing to teach other workshops in the series (topics include Matlab, R, Stata, Gauss, etc. -- at the coordinator's discretion; these students are paid on hourly basis), and managing logistics of the series. Compensation is at the regular 1/2 TA rate (including tuition, benefits and regular TA salary). Contact oz9a@iastate.edu for details.

Sustainable Systems MS at Rochester Institute of Technology

Golisano Institute for Sustainability (GIS) at Rochester Institute of Technology is accepting applications for September 2012 admission to the Sustainable Systems M.S. (http://www.rit.edu/gis/academics/ms-sustainability/ ). Since this is an interdisciplinary program, students of many education backgrounds are admitted, and likewise, coursework and research draws on numerous disciplines within science, engineering, and liberal arts.
