IREX Econ internship
IREX seeks an intern with a background in economics to provide support to a professional development program. The intern will have a strong familiarity with the organizations and institutions that conduct economic research and economic policy. The internship will last from September to December 2012, and will work up to 40 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and liaise with economic organizations and institutions for program participant placements and program events.
- Compile and track a wide range of information and data specific to the field of economics and economic policy in support of program development.
- Provide additional program support for participants as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience with and interest in economics and economics policy. The ideal candidate will be enrolled in or recently graduated from a graduate program in the field of economics.
- Demonstrated familiarity with U.S.-based economic-focused organizations, institutions, think-tanks.
- Experience with or knowledge of international economics. Familiarity with the current economic environment in Russia preferred.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
